The Kansas Agribusiness Retailers Association (KARA), alongside the Kansas Grain and Feed Association (KGFA) and Renew Kansas Biofuels Association, hosted a Barnstorm campaign rally Monday, Nov. 2, at the KGFA office in Topeka.
The event featured U.S. Rep. Derek Schmidt, who represents Kansas’ 2nd Congressional District, and Sen. Jeff Klemp, candidate for Kansas lieutenant governor. Approximately 40 people attended, including several members of the Kansas House and Senate.
During the visit, Klemp discussed the importance of agriculture to Kansas’ economy, including the role agricultural retailers play in supporting farmers and rural communities. He highlighted the importance of providing producers with the products, services and expertise needed to remain productive and competitive.
“Agricultural retailers play a vital role in helping Kansas farmers succeed,” KARA President and CEO Ron Seeber said. “From providing essential crop inputs to delivering the knowledge and services producers rely on, our members are important partners in maintaining a strong agricultural economy and supporting the communities where they do business.”
The visit provided an opportunity for association members and guests to engage with candidates and discuss issues affecting Kansas agriculture and the state’s economic future.
